The Microshift Acolyte Super Short Derailleur allows the Alpha Series bikes to use an 11-38t cassette. This gives 90% more gear range than other comparable bikes.
Microshift is the only drivetrain maker to focus on kids sized shifters. Easy-to-reach triggers and ultra-light shifting action make this the #1 shifter for kids.
Increasing the tire width to 2.1" will give trail explorers more traction when the path gets tough.
Short stems, handlebars sized to match shoulder width, easy-to-reach brakes, and a kid-friendly shifter. All features that give the rider control of their steed.
Low standover allowing young riders to get on a bigger wheel earlier. Bigger wheels roll faster, offer more traction, and roll over obstacles with less effort. Upright seating position with just enough weight over the front of the bike to maintain control and balance. A low center of gravity that's designed to keep the riders weight "in" the bike, rather than on top. Short chainstays keep the bike agile, while a slack front end keeps things stable at all speeds.
HEIR cranks use specific lengths and widths to match young riders pedaling ergonomics. The Dual Alloy Chainguards keep the chain on in all terrain, while protecting the rider's pants from getting caught.
Getting your kids the right size bike is important and, fortunately, also easy. You just need two pieces of information about your little rider:
Children who are learning are more sensitive to bicycle height than children who already know how to ride a bike. If the rider is new we recommend erring on the side of a smaller bike. If the rider is experienced and confident, it is OK to err on the side of a larger bike.
We include ride age as guidance for our bikes as a quick reference. But because riders of the same age can have very different sizes, inseam is a more reliable size indicator than age.

"Exceptional from frame to wheels, brakes to handlebars, the Prevelo Alpha Three is the ultimate ride for young, adventurous riders."
"If your little rider is ready to take their skills to the next level, the Prevelo Alpha Three is their perfect match."
We, my grandson, his parents, and I are extreemly happy with the purchase of this bike. This is kinda of an understatement in the case of my grandson, as he has been in a state of euphoria since receiving it! My son and daughter- in -law are pleased about the quality and ease of assembly. I am happy with great customer service and mostly about the smile on my beloved grandson's face.
Fit and finish - world class Design for the little groms - best out there Pre-assembly and tuning - bike arrives adjusted and ready to roll. I have had many direct to consumer bikes over the years. None of them are actually adjusted properly out of the box. EXCEPT PREVELO! 9sd drivetrain shifting flawlessly right out of the box.
This is my sons first geared bike. He has already mastered how to change gears. He loves to go fast! He is six and looks very comfortable on the bike. The bike has quality parts and was well made.
This is our second Prevelo bike. We started with the Alpha One when my son turned 3 and upgraded to the Alpha Three now that’s he’s 4.5 and mostly outgrew the One. These are solid bikes, way nicer than any bike I had growing up! Upon putting it together I thought my son might have some trouble adjusting from the One to the Three because of how much bigger it is but he took right to it and he’s loving his new bike. We stuck with Prevelo because of all the features, it’s lighter weight than most, and we feel confident it will last through our three boys. My son does wish it came in red but I got him the red handle grips for the silver bike and he seems pleased. Highly recommend!
The Prevelo bike has definitely been the biggest factor in helping my six-year-old learn how to ride a bike. She struggled for a year on a huffy, but within 30 minutes on a Prevelo Alpha Three, she was cruising in the parking lot. There was clearly a lot of thought and engineering geared toward child ergonomics. My kid attributes her success to her new bike and so do I. Jacob personally assembled our bike and it is just beautiful. He took time to answer all our questions and treated us like old friends. He made lifetime customers out of us. If you’re looking for a bike for your kid, look no further. This is the bike to get. As a bonus, you’d be supporting a cool dude and his family business!
