Loaded with Features Obsessively Thought Out for Young Cyclists

Youth Optimized HEIR® Crank

HEIR® crank lengths are custom sized for each size bike to make sure little riders have optimum pedal ergonomics. And they have ultra-narrow Q-factors to match the narrow hips of young cyclists. If that sounds like technical mumbo jumbo, here's the point - HEIR cranks will help make small riders more comfortable and efficient on their bike.

Confidence Inspiring Trail Geometry

The Zulu Five features Prevelo's signature confidence inspiring geometry. Prevelo geometry utilizes a low bottom bracket that lowers the center of gravity of the bike and rider, making for a more agile and confident ride. The slack front end makes the bike forgiving to young trail riders experimenting with tough terrain.

Lightweight Widerange Drivetrain

Microshift Advent X with 10-speed Microshift Advent X G-Series 11-48T and easy to use trigger shifters gives progressing riders plenty of gear range to tackle a variety of trails.

Tubeless Ready Tires and Rims

The Zulu Five is equipped with tubeless ready tires and rims, so you can ditch the tube, reduce flats, and get a more comfortable grippier ride. Bikes ship with tubes installed and will need to be setup tubeless by you or your mechanic.

Size Guide

Prevelo Bike Sizing

Getting your kids the right size bike is important and, fortunately, also easy. You just need two pieces of information about your little rider:

  • Inseam
  • Rider Experience

Measuring Inseam

  1. Have the rider stand against a wall, hold a book between their legs so that it is firmly against their crotch  and the wall (the same place their bicycle seat will be).
  2. Measure the distance from the floor to the top of the book.

Rider Experience

Children who are learning are more sensitive to bicycle height than children who already know how to ride a bike. If the rider is new we recommend erring on the side of a smaller bike.  If the rider is experienced and confident, it is OK to err on the side of a larger bike.

Age

We include ride age as guidance for our bikes as a quick reference. But because riders of the same age can have very different sizes, inseam is a more reliable size indicator than age.
